competition (a meditation)

Competition is… okay, I guess.

…but like, at the cost of devaluation of human dignity?

I mean, really…?

Just doesn’t sit right with me.

…But then there are arguments, I do must admit, questioning the value of human dignity. Particularly at how humans have historically over and over again treated fellow humans so inhumanely… so animalistically… so horrifically…

Can’t quite ignore all that, no.

“Competition would be okay if it is fair” Umm, sure..?

Maybe but who gets to decide what’s “fair” ? Those who are “winning” ? Or some “sacred, ancient tenet” or “holy book ” ? Or what “works”/what “has been working” so far?

Anyways. Still thinking about competition. Not completely dismissing it outright. Definitely not accepting it blindly, either. And thinking about the devaluation of human dignity, too.
